Let's Get 'Secular' Back in the Queensland Education Act (from whence it was deleted in 1910)

As it has been a concern of mine for a long time now: I'd like to ask is there any reason why we are still allowing religious people into public schools for the purposes of promoting their religion? I would have thought this would have ceased a long time ago.

But the five-year-old was the only child in her year to be excused from the lesson and so was forced to sit alone outside the classroom while it proceeded. The little girl was so distressed that her mother - let's call her Karen - reluctantly gave permission for her to attend Anglican scripture. But the decision doesn't feel right and she's still not sure that it is. What should she do?

Bible lessons (from the 'Good News' Bible) in school hours by Education Queensland staff teachers are built-into the Queensland Education Act with a curriculum covering Year 1 to Year 7. Creationism and 'Intelligent Design' are permitted to be, and are being included in the Queensland State school curriculum at any grade level.
